Is it better than a spreadsheet?
It keeps what a spreadsheet does well: the table view lets you edit cells in place, paste a copied range over cells, sort, filter and export. It adds what a spreadsheet cannot: a board you move applications across, interviews logged against each application, and insights such as your interview rate and response time, worked out for you.
Can I import my existing spreadsheet?
Yes. Upload a CSV or Excel file (.csv or .xlsx) from your board's settings, match its columns to the tracker's fields, and each row becomes an application on that board.
Can I export my application data?
Yes, whenever you like. Export any board to a CSV file from its settings, or export just the rows you are looking at from the table view.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's web browser; there is no app to install. On a small screen the board's columns stack one above another and the menu folds behind a single button. The Chrome extension is for desktop browsers.
Does it work with Claude or other AI assistants?
Yes. Job Application Tracker runs an MCP server: add it to Claude as a custom connector, sign in, and Claude can list, add and update your applications for you. Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients connect with a sign-in or an API key, and a REST API is there for your own scripts.
